From the South
Masonry is the world's first and largest fraternal organization, and is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place. Through our culture of philanthropy, we make a profound difference for our brothers, our families, our communities, and our future. The Palm Springs Masonic Lodge serves the Greater High Desert Area, including Yucca Valley, Cathedral City, Thousand Palms, Palm Desert, Desert Hot Springs, Bermuda Dunes and the surrounding communities in California. Since 1947.
Brethren, I would like to write about compassion as a virtue, which defines a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering. I am sure that we’ve all had the experience of being distressed and also being compassionate. We Masons should be the best at utilizing this virtue. Today our Lodge is moving forward toward the “Light!” However, I am reaching out to each of you, my Brothers, to come forward and “hold each other’s hands” and try to give your best to bring the” Light” back into our Lodge! We have different opinions, visions, desires, and approaches. We should follow our rules and regulations, but let’s keep the common senses as well and remain to what we promised to act upon.
Everyone has a talent to offer. The talent we should use is to build, but not to destroy. Let’s not forget that we are the builders. Let’s be compassionate my Brothers and remain Sacred Builders…
